When you spearfish, your hands are the tool you cannot replace. ZooKeeper Gloves give you Level 5 cut resistance, a sandy nitrile grip, and extra knuckle padding so you can hold a pole spear, work a knife, and handle catch without giving up feel.

The sandy nitrile palm is there so a wet spear holder, speargun, or fillet knife does not skate out of your hand. EKF padding cushions the back of the hand when you are bracing on rock, working a shaft, or pulling lobster. The seamless knit stays flexible underwater instead of going stiff.

Important: cut resistant, not puncture resistant

These gloves are not puncture-resistant. A lionfish spine is a venom-delivery puncture, not a slice. Gloves labeled puncture-proof have to be rated against a hypodermic-needle test. Very few gloves meet that standard and still feel usable on a dive. Do not count on these, or any soft dive glove, to stop a lionfish spine.

If you are stung, follow the steps on our lionfish sting guide. For the fish itself, contain it in a ZooKeeper instead of handling it bare or gloved. That is the point of the system, and it is the same standard we hold ourselves to in our commitment.
